Support Delta Land Development at Holly Park.
Email your support to the mayor or come to the council meeting Nov 20th 4PM at Delta Hall.
People of Delta may have heard of the Falcons Field Hockey Club, or know of someone associated with the club. In fact they have may know that the club has had amazing success in the past building a strong club through the 70’s and 80’s at times providing the national and provincial teams with the lions share of players. Locally, the club has had great success because it had a field that supported all levels of players and was able to keep those important members locally to train and continue the legacy of a premium club. Since the late 80’s the club has lost it shine because the lack of support to build a home field that recognizes the unique needs of field hockey as a sport. Recently Mayor Harvie and his team has given the club new hope to build a field that allows field hockey to rebuild and regrow our membership again. This new opportunity is being offered as part of a land swap and development at Ladner’s Holly Park. This proposal needs the support of the community who will use this fields well as the delta neighbours who support the clubs plight. Without your input council may not understand the need or recognize the broad support out in the community for this proposal. Please take a moment to email the mayor by Nov. 18, 2023 outlining why you support the land development proposal at Holly and why a Field Hockey Turf should be part of that proposal. Send your emails to mayor-council@delta.ca. If you have the time please also come out for the open Council meeting at Delta City Hall Nov 20, 2023. 4pm. We thanks you for your support in advance.
